Ba 215 LHR- BOS

I noticed todays flight was switched from a 777 to a 744.Can anyone answer was it because the original went tech or was late inbound .Also what was the replacement aircraft reg number.I always though BA used 777's on this route as it didn't warrant a 744.

The British Airways website ba.com timetable indicates that the BA215 service is currently flown by the 747-400. There are 3 daily services; 2 on the 747-400 and the third is on the 777.

Today's aircraft on the BA215 was G-CIVH
