Towing a Monarch

Hi

At the MAN AVP today, a Monarch A320 was being towed past the mounds down towards the turning circle near 05R.

After a while it was towed back again.

Would that have been for a training session or testing? I know airlines sometimes hire their planes for training etc.

Just interested to know.

Are you sure it wasn't a 321? G-OJEG is due off C Check today and went for an engine run this morning.

Thanks for your help, probably was the 321, would they run the engines in the same way as they would in the testing bay?.

What would be the next stage of its C Check?

It all depends on what has been carried out on the "C" Check.
If an engine has been removed during the check, it will require a full (high) power run on that engine. Other than that it normally only requires a run to check for leaks and test the bleed system.
Once that has been done and the a/c has been declared serviceable, it then has a shakedown flight to ensure no problems and then into service.
This a/c was planned to ferry to LGW yesterday, this would be its shakedown flight and operate today from LGW.
