Hawkeye! Try telling my kid that the Government pays to train doctors when she starts paying back her £15,000-£20,000 loan in a few years. OK, it doesn't cover the whole cost. If medical students had to foot the whole bill (£150,000 ish) then there wouldn't be any doctors or, if there were, you wouldn't be able to afford to use them.
