Post Important info: United Airlines

Reacting to recent overtime isputes with its pilots, and facing a continuing shortage of qualified candidates, United Airlines chairman and CEO James Goodwin announced today the grounding of the global carrier's entire fleet of 7,400 planes so maintenance personnel can check seats, magazine pockets, and overhead luggage bins for lose change.
After cancelling over 2,300 flights last year, and expecting to cancel as many as 1,200 more through the end of 2001, United directors and officers are facing unprecedented financial difficulties.
"Have you seen the price of gas these days?" asked president Rono Dutta. "And do you have any idea how much an oil change costs for a 747? We need serious money, and we need it now."
While the airline expects to lose $1.2 billion a day during the inspections, engineers estimate as much as $1,500 in change awaits discovery throughout the fleet.
