Brendan is a top bloke! He taught me aerobatics several years ago and I can tell you that he is a thoroughly skilled and extremely knowledgeable chap. I take it that all you other guys have never f`d up on a sim ever?? I would like to see some of you carrying out some of the aerobatic routines that he has wowed so many people with over the years. Just cos he has a bit of charisma - and is a bit cheesy (knows it and loves it) does not give anyone else the right to have a go at him!
Yes he does pull the birds - always has done without the TV stuff......and by the way, hate to disillusion some of you......but Celia does not look all that good up close!

Rant over!!

Brendan is a lovely guy and the detractors show their ignorance. Jealousy is such an ugly emotion.
Check out Skyfever. Have you ever heard of Rothmans aerobatic team? (Not old enough, eh!) The Unipart Aerobatic Team? Iveco Trucks Display Team? Cadburys Flying Circus? The Tiger Club?
Have you ever noticed the resemblance between Brendan and Arnold Rimmer's altered-ego 'Ace' in Red Dwarf?
The world would be a poorer place without him.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast!!

Having watched flight line many times over the past two years, I have to say that I started off with the same opinion as the people at the beginning of this thread, but I think that most of it is a character he plays on the TV. He is obviously a very experienced pilot, and has been able to have an awful lot of aviation experiences over the years that most of us can only dream of.

I saw one episode this morning of him having a flight in a Mig 29, don't suppose I'll ever get the chance to break the sound barrier in one of those!

It's his whole character on flight line that keeps us all going back to watch it, if people hated him so much then they wouldn't keep watching!!

If he's now flying 747's as well, then well done Brendan.

Shouldn't you be doing some school work or something, although thinking about it, it is probably way past your bedtime. so go on up to bed like a good little boy. Night night.

I have had to severely edit and delete posts in this thread because of abuse and swearing. Danny's latest edict of non toleration of abuse and swearing is quite clear.

In this case one starts it and some follow, which just goes to show they have no mind of their own.

I think that the problem with "Flightline" is not the presenters it's the fact that they have been repeated to death!. You would have thought with every aspect of aviation today beeing fillmed there would be enough "Footage" to do a different "Flightline" every day!.
The same goes with "Discovery Wings" the same old stuff over and over and over again!
As for Mr O'B, never met the bloke but his enthusiasm for aviation shows through. I would rather have an enthusiastic, larger than life charecter presenting the programm than a dull voice over or a professional T.V. presenter.
