Angel EK A380 Luggage on Runway at DXB

Has any one heard why EK's A380's Cargo door opened on landing at DXB.....
Yes ... On Landing.
Some Luggage fell out on to the Runway.
Runway closed for a bit.
What happened?
Why would a Cargo Door open on Landing?
Why was it not made public?

Firm landing with a door not properly locked in the first place?

Sounds like a Joke.

If not, the 380s may have to take a little rest.

Sounds very improbable since the luggage would be in the usual LD3 container, itself locked down in position...

And the bulk door would of course be secured by a very resistant net...

I hope for your own sake that you are a pilot because I fear that a career in public relations is out of your reach. As a general rule you don't talk about bad things unless you have to.

Anyway, what is your source? There have been landings that pushed the gear up through the wing and the luggage still had to be offloaded the hard way.

If it is true - which I doubt - does 380 have a "hold 5" for loose last minute baggage?

yes, the a380 does have a bulk hold for loose bags/rush/buggies etc etc but it should be netted... besides, if the hold door was not properly secured by ground handling shouldnt a sensor have picked this up?

but i dont believe this..

At least it happened (allegedly) on landing and not take off - the luggage therefore arrived at the same destination and at the same time as the Pax. That's a bonus for some airlines!

Probability of supposed inside information being boll*cks is inversely proportional to number of posts.

7 posts - high probability of boll*cks
