Having spent my entire career stuck inside the safe sanctuary of windowless ACCs and UACs, I was suitably entertained for a few hours from the car park at LGW on Sunday afternoon listening to and watching you guys and gals landing your aeroplanes (some at the second attempt) whilst battling against the elements. Heavy rain, crosswinds of 15 kts gusting to 26 kts, -15 to -20 kt windshear at 200 feet, etc., etc. You certainly earned your money that day. I must say that the ATC guys (and gal) were just as equally impressive. A terrific job done by all. Great stuff. Mind you, it was all a piece of pi$$ in contrast to my drive back on the motorways!!!
