Birdstrikes are not really uncommon. Especially during the warmer half of the year we have 2-3 birdstrikes a week with the fleet of aircraft based on our airport (10-12 aircraft based there). Most of them just leave some blood on the aircraft, with no further damage.

Popped out of low cloud on finals to Berlin the other day to find ourselves on a perfect intercept course to a nice 'V' of ducks flying just below cloud base.
Unlike their name, ducks don't. The flew up to greet us and a few bounced off the airframe.
No drama, a few lost feathers and a big headache for the duck, paperwork for us and off we went again.
Non event.
