Flight Path UK, online aircraft tracking within the UK will be up and running within a couple of months.

Well worth a look at the demo, although for £9.99 a month I am sure that after a month of interest you wouldn't spend more than that.
I am disappointed that the refresh rate is as much as two minutes, defeating the object of 'realtime tracking!'
However I do like the filters that can be applied to the aircraft. For example you could just show all aircraft going in and out of PIK doing 250 below 10(!)

Very glad you posted this one. We are trialing Flight Explorer (a US Based System) in our Ops Control at present and finding it very useful operationally. Although we can watch aircraft in the hold at ORD and LAX, in fact all over the US, we are limited to the UK and near Continent on this side of the Atlantic. Even still it's useful.
The big question is, 'When we will see the rest of Europe availabe on an Aircaft Situation Display system? Seems the German are vetoing any release of the ASD data for airline use let alone public consumption, even EuroControl is restricted in its use. Considering we are paying for ATS in our charges seems strange they should veto it release, it's a by product of ATC.
I'm pleased NATS are taking this step. We'll watch with interest.

WSI the private weather information service are touting a flight tracking add-on to their packages. We're trialling it here at my company in the UK.
It does include UK flights but the datafeed is experimental and not covered by any formal agreements and, as others realise, the rest of the European airspace 'providers' are presently having nothing to do with it.
The refresh rates I've seen are at around 60 second intervals and, in my opinion, is more than adequate for the intended role.
As a tool for tactical awareness in an ops room I think it will prove invaluable.
