A useful and informative article - thanks for putting the page directly on the PPRuNe board. (and worth putting back at the top!)
I've "cross posted" it onto the PAX/SLF section as I think it's worth making sure it gets read by as many of us as possible.
1) Board flight, check seat rows to the exits.
2) Check into hotel, check room doors to exits.
(and lots of other tips that I hope never to need ! )

If it's considered a good idea we can put it in on the main home page articles section for easy availability.

The SEP department at BA used to have a handy jacket-pocket sized crib card with all this sort of info on it. I assume all crew were issued with it.

If I recall, the final piece of advice was to stay up in the bar all night. This was pre Channel 4 outrage/lies documentary of course.

Rob - I've put a link to the article in the Tech/Safety area, and anyone clicking on the "New Chat up & running" announcement will also see a link. Personally I like 10W's advice. I remember several people at the Gatbash (including himself and Nearly Man) following it!

I read it and thought it was a really good summary. Ummm, maybe I am a nerd but I do that sort of thing any way. Too much of a mean bastard to die and leave people my stuff. It should be in the front page top tips thing.
Oh BTW, the new code word from the BA boys is "going for coffee". Confuses the Ch4 team. Yeah, dawn patrols are fun and saves on paying for a hotel room. You just hope that if you manage to get lucky that someone has a room! (sorry for lapsing into JetBlast mode)

Yeah...
2 things I always take along on night-stops and place religiously next to the bed are:
- 1 smoke hood (you know, the small can type pilot shops sell)
- 2 flashlite (with good batteries)
This since one crew of the airline I used to work for, experienced a hotel fire in Cairo. The hairy reports just had me think some...
