Airport layout
Hi,
I'm making a model of an airport, for a college project. And I was looking for the layout of an airport especially concerning the positioning of the transmitters (ILS, Glideslope), RADAR with respect to the runway. Would be really great if anybody could point me in the right direction or just share some ideas.
A plan of the upcoming airport at Delhi would be the icing on the cake. Thanks in advance.

Google is your friend....
eg, type in KJFK and you will find links to JFK airport, [New York] which includes airfield layout, and arrival and departure patterns [SIDs and STARs].
Most airports have web sites, so don't stay up too late.....

Thanks a lot buddies... I'm still 'data mining' for the project, please do post if you find anything that you think might be helpful.

ILS Localiser at the far end of the runway. Glidepath to one side, close to the touchdown point. Surveillance radar can be positioned anywhere; doesn't even have to be on the airport. However, GCA radar - rarely used at civil aerodromes now - is usually positioned close to the touchdown point.

Thanks everyone.... so I finally have most of the data. So as of now I plan to place the glideslop, localizer, marker, SSR, radar, vor antennas on the model.... anymore that you can suggest?

Take a look at this -
http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/33/CAP168.PDF
It gives you approved taxiway/runway markings - and lots of other stuff.

Guys, can you please tell me if the runway ends mirror each other with respect to the centreline marking? It says on wikipedia that the runway lights are red x distance from the end and then alternate red and white y distance followed by white lights, is it the same for the other end. Say for runway 28-10, end for runway 28 would be threshold for 10 isn't it? So am I right in thinking that centreline markings "begin" and "end" in red?

It depends which way you are looking, the start is always white the end red so for example if you turn around at the start so therefore face the end you will then face the red lights ie they are directional with either white on one side and red on the other or for the middle section white on both sides.
Hope that explains it, but here's a pic

Here is what we've managed to do so far..... it still requires a bit of work.
Thank you guys, without your help I wouldn't have been able to get this far even. Any further suggestions/ideas/criticisms welcome!

Well scale wasn't a requirement for us so that's not a problem. And since we were mainly supposed to focus on the position and types of ILS antennae scale would've been a problem of it own.... a 10 feet antenna against a 10000 ft runway would've been difficult to depict!
The weired thing is that that was a post about runway alignments being incorrect based on which I'd made the necessary corrections to the model, and now that post has disappeared, apparently deleted.....
Thanks everyone for being of a lot of help, really really appreciate it!
