Air France - Livery Change at Last!

I wasn't quite sure where to post this, since new airline colour schemes come and go and are not really classified as news. But, after using the same livery scheme for the last three hundred years (it feels like it), another "airline" site is heavily reporting tonight that Air France will unveil a new look within the next week or so. If it's true, then it most certainly is newsworthy.

The same site goes onto state that the two A380 tail sections already painted and in position on current final assembly line at XFW will merely be re-painted (a la QANTAS, as they did with their A380's) to reflect the modified scheme.

Is it the end of the bar-code????

The Tricolore became the French flag a mere 215 years ago in 1794 after the revolution. Your early memory of AF airframes and the Montgolfier balloon in the 18th century is clearly a little hazy !

IIRC, the 'bar-code' livery was the first to dispense with the cheatline and go for an all-white fuselage - a style copied by many/most airlines since.

Well, they could do worse than this little retro celebration number ...
