Fantasy Airshow 2009

It's a beautiful day. Ideal conditions for an airshow.
What aircraft would you love to see display?
Any era.
A brief description of it's/their display and leave the rest to our imaginations.

No topless wing-walkers please.

Three camouflaged TSR2's move along the crowdline.
A series of loud bangs are followed by a four jet, high speed pass that leaves the crowd breathless.

The TSR2's take off and display with the others.

Seven TSR2's....

And looking to your left.......

How about a BAC 221 in formation with a Concorde followed by a B-70 and SR. 71.
A Boeing 787 would be nice - well I bet Boeing might think so!! (In time for Paris, or Dubai.....maybe even F'boro in 2010.)

Did you say 'It's a beautiful day with ideal Wx?'.............Now that has all the potential for fantasy in the U.K. if the last two summer's are anything to go on.

Too quiet..

An airfield attack by a squadron of Mosquitoes. Lots of pyrotechnics going off.
No health and safety issues at this airshow.

Followed by a very low flypast and a high break to port.

A supersonic pass by anything - why settle for high speed.

The Tomcat was there or thereabouts at Dubai 03.....nice!

I can remember sitting in the pub talking to some friends about airshows. At the time 'Fantasy Football' was just becoming popular, and I said that we should have a 'Fantasy Airshow' contest.

There were lots of different categories for scoring points -

selecting dates for airshows,
picking which ones were cancelled due to weather, or finances
best 'crash' at an airshow
which airshow would have a crash
what would crash
most expensive show to enter
most expensive programme
most expensive 'burger and coke'
most extraordinary visitor at a single show
best 'failure to show-up despite promising to' act
best excuse for not displaying

I seem to remember that we got up to about two pages of categories, and the above ones were not the 'sickest' by any stroke!
