Royal Air Force blowing up C-130 aircraft...

Just found this video of a C-130 being blown up by the Royal Air Force after it became unservicable due to landing gear damage.

Video: DutchOps.com - UK Air Force destroys C-130 aircraft...

Does this happen very often?

Yeah - our K's are in such a state - our J's are overworked and the A400M is late. All spares greatly appreciated!

Looking at that video,it ia a C130J that is blown up and it looks like it had more than undercarriage damage, there seems to ba a lot of damage to the port wing and an engine is missing.

Wasn't that the one that suffered serious damage on landing in either Iraq or Afghanistan, so they decided to destroy it themselves rather than let it be destroyed by the enemy forces?

Oh for God's sake......it was blown up as it crash landed in theatre and the crew had to abandon it. Rather than allow the enemy access, the aircraft was destroyed.
