Big Airways undercarriage smoking

A Big Airways B747-400 had smoke coming from its left hand body gear last night whilst taxing for take off.It was noticed by the aircraft taxiing behind.Apparantly the wheel bearings failed. The aircraft was towed to base minus one wheel.
