Go around at Corfu.
My daughter, just back from Corfu tells me their a/c (Monarch) on 19th July, aborted a landing at Corfu then struck off for southern Italy and landed there, because of a mist or fog shrouded runway.
Total flight time 7 hours, as opposed to the normal 3 hours.
Corfu runway is relatively short, leaving no margin for error, I told her.

Quite a few aircraft tried to get in that night, only 1 managed it before the low cloud settled over the airport. The rest went off to Brindisi and other Greek airports.
Short runway, yes, but the reason they all had to go around is that the minimum altitude that we are allowed to go down to at which point we have to make a decision to land is exceptionally high at Corfu.
As a result, when low level cloud abscures the view of the runway at this altitude, we have to go around and try again, or, in your daughters case, divert elsewhere!
