Aerobatics at Filton

I spotted what looked like an aerobatics plane doing some fairly harsh looking manoevres (steep climbs / dives and tight turns) around and overhead Filton on Saturday morning. I have seen a similar plane there once before. Anyone know what's going on?

The locally based Spitfire and Mustang go up and practise when Filton is quiet. On of these 2 I guess. Nothing has been posted on the local enthusiasts sites.

Thanks. I was going to say that I thought it looked like a spitfire, but I thought that would sound a bit silly! Didn't know there was one based there.

Silly question of the day.

I am trying to identify an aircraft that performs aerobatics in my area but not being an expert would like some help and as someone has already asked a simillar question, I thought you wouldn't mind too much if I did too?

The aircraft has distinctive black and white chequerboard pattern on the underside of the wings. Thats about all I can say. It flies near Worminghall Airfield, Oxfordshire.

Go on someone give me a clue?!!

Is there a club nearby - I searched on the internet for aerobatics and the closest airfield seems to be White Waltham - is that what people have to do - fly off somewhere else to practice and this chap (assuming hes a he) practices near Worminghall - or near Ashendon in Bucks sometimes as well?
