Emirates over Cornwall
Any ideas on the route and/or identity of an Emirates A330 routing Lands End to Gibso this morning? Certainly a stranger in our skies down here and obviously one of theirs, unless someone has been added their name to the underside of the competition.

looking at the flight explorer there is two B777 heading east that have passed over lands end
the one that passed directly overhead would have been UAE202 B777 JFK-DXB, at FL330 travelling at 460kts

Back to recognition school then
I thought it was too long in the body for an A330 but I also thought there were winglets on show.
Certainly the first Emirates I've seen or heard overhead

True enough - I didn't question his recognition, but was just drawing attention to the fact that there is more than one operator with belly titles. I think also that it might not be altogether easy to read the titles from ground level if the aircraft is at FL330!

When you say first emirates you've seen or heard overhead do you mean the A330 or any Emirates at all? Also if you can hear them did you catch the callsign?
As mentioned, it was probably:
UAE202 KJFK-OMDB. Would have been in your neck of the woods around 10:30 ish. Likey a 777-300 though.

Next door's lawnmower drowned out the radio so no callsign heard!
First time I've seen Emirates down here, and I'll agree it was a B777.
Had not previously heard them on the radio either
