Cairo 05L closed, vehicles burnt out?

Anyone know what is going on, lots of guards around what looks like three burnt out vehicles, in procession order on the runway? Can't get any info from airport.

I doubt very much that a safety and/or security organisation would conduct an exercise on a working runway, even if it were closed for the exercise, that involved burning vehicles and creating debris, when there are other stretches of tarmac available to simulate a runway for such an exercise, even the Egyptians !

Watch out because the WIP crew will be knocking on your front door soon claiming they are "just working on the O523 bypass and have some spare tarmac for your driveway" !

The guy who asked the question did so yesterday so try those notams!

There was a (notamed) security exercise involving the closure of 05L all morning.
