I'm an expert and this is what I think.

BA have two big problems.

1 - Useless management.

2 - Useless workforce.

These problems stems from a culture and expectations inbred during the nationalised era.

Solution? Recruit decent management who only keep their jobs if they get results and set them to work taming the useless workforce. Give them powers to get rid of the dead wood. Stand up to BALPA, who demonstrate their fragility with other airlines.

I would question your statement "Useless workforce". The ladies and gents at the sharp end, ie the crews, are among the best in the business. However, once you move up or down a few steps you are closer to the truth.

Useless Management ..... Wow, that's a bit strong is it not ?

Well I'm NO expert but from the comments on this forum, I would describe the management style as 'THE LEAKING BUCKET SYNDROME'.

Too many managers looking for pin size holes around the side blissfully unaware that the bloody bottom has fallen out.

I would say that the comment - useless staff was a bit harsh, But I agree with what you said about the management.

I heard a joke once - What did Aer lingus teach 17 year old willie - Not alot

What BA needs is a 'hands on' captain to channel it in the right direction.

Regards.
