Stuck in Iceland

What happens when a pilot falls ill at a remote airport where there are no replacement flight crew members?

If you fly to Iceland from London, for example, and a member of the crew was unable to make the return trip, would the next flight out carry three pilots so they could fly both planes back?

Perhaps this never happens in reality, but I'm interested to know if airlines have a solution.

Nicholas

Crew on next flight out or even private charter of small prop/jet to get crew to the aircraft in serious cases.
