Fighter Plane over Chester - 29May
Hi All,
While stuck in the office tied to my desk i have just heard some type of Fighter Plane going roughly West - East, 1330 sounded like a Tornado/Jaguar style from memory!
The office is roughly 4-5 miles East of Hawarden (YEG), anyone know what it was?
It's funny because i've heard 3 going over during the last 2 weeks (roughly) and haven't heard any in the previous 10 years!
Anyone any ideas, something from RAF Valley maybe?
Cheers in advance for any leads!

Possibly a Hawk from RAF Valley, they often do missed approaches at Liverpool, if rwy 27 was in use, I suspect it's routing from Valley to LPL would take them right over your area to turn left base and left onto finals.
Considering it's 'only' a Hawk, it's amazing the speed they do along the Mersey after the missed approach

Cheers WALsue and clifftop.
Didn't sound like a Hawk but being locked in an office all day can do funny things to your mind
I will try and be prepared for it next time!

They don't sound like little kites from here either, I live about 1/2 a mile North of the glide slope for rwy 27 abeam approx the 1/2 mile final point. It's at about this point when the Hawk rejects a landing and whacks the throttle fully open, it's at that moment I zip out the front door just in time to completely miss whatever it was!!
