A new (okay, the L-1011 is not new, but you know what I mean) corporate aircraft in Las Vegas.

I understand it is owned by the Venetian Casino, don't know if that is a fact or not. I believe that they own a 767, BBJ and some other mid-sized corporate jets.

Gawd I'd forgotten how short the 500 looks... or is that a 200 and I've forgotten how short the TriStar looks...? Nice scheme though...

411A

Understand that one a/c was put into service and the other is up for sale at twice the original purchase cost, is this true?

Thanks for the correction PT.

This is true, Mutt, but there is a rather limited market for this type of aeroplane....sadly.

L-1001 Deluxe Bus

How is it configured inside? I assume it is for transporting high rollers.

- Always thought the 1011 was the most comfortable one out there for the pax.

Very plush, state rooms, lounges, showers and about 40 first class seats. At least thats what it looked like eight years ago. Their second TriStar (the last L-1011 built) was even better equipped as it had full electronic counter measures installed when it was delivered.

I agree. The tristar was one of the most comfortable planes I've ever travelled on. The only long haul flights I did in it was with Air Lanka but I used to travel alot on Air Canada's LHR-DUS sector which was always better than the BA or LH alternatives.

Ah ha, so this is where my thread went to. I first posted it in the R&N section and it disappeared.

Oh well, alls well that ends well.

411A, I figured you probably knew about the 1011 turning up as a corporate aircraft in Las Vegas if anyone did. Good looking airplane, glad to see them still working.
