Difference in flight time AMS-NBO
I am wondering why it is scheduled to take 9:25 to fly from AMS to NBO in a B763, but the return trip will only take 8:15 in a B744.
Do the aircrafts have that different cruise speed or are they slowing down on the outbound leg, because the schedule allows it thus saving fuel and give the pax an extra hour of sleep.

Southbound flight should actually be marginally quicker. I suspect you're stopping somewhere on the way down. Or have you taken into account any time change? What airline? 767 would be around 15-25 mins slower than the 744 normally.

OK that would be a pleasant surprise.
I got these info on my flight reservation, but I guess we will just wait and see.
AMSTERDAM NL NAIROBI KE 2010 0635
SCHIPHOL JOMO KENYATTA
NON STOP DURATION 9:25
KQ 0117 FLIGHT OPERATED BY KQ KENYA AIRWAYS
EQUIPMENT:BOEING 767-200/300
Thank you for the info.
So I guess slowing down and increase the flight time by an hour to save fuel does not make sense.
