C 130 ex Luton today 31/01?
Observed about 15 miles west of Luton at 1650 was a C 130 which appeared to be on either a Papa or Victor departure from that airfield.
I didn't get a sufficiently clear view of the aeroplane to make an operator ident, but I don't think it was an RAF aircraft.
Does anyone have any further details? All info (or speculation!) gratefully received.
Thanks, everyone.

Aha! Thanks for that AWR.
I didn't get the best of views due to some ragged low cloud, but as far as I could see it didn't have drop tanks, hence the above enquiry.
Thanks again,

Thanks F_C.
In the last few minutes I've found some info/pics on the 'J' version which doesn't appear to have external tanks and I also find that ZH883 is an example of that variant.
So that would explain everything! My a/c recognition skills aren't what they were, but I do try to maintain an interest.
My thanks, Gentlemen.
