Which MD-82 was I on?

I've just returned from the US and managed to get the registrations of all the aircraft I travelled on except for one - an American Airlines MD-80 series (82?) from Denver to Chicago. Because of the aircraft positioning at the gate I couldn't get a proper look at the registration, and the crew could only tell me it had the tail number "4YG".

I've tried looking up all the databases I know of, but can't tie this fleet number to an actual N- reg. Can anyone help?

Thanks

The 4YG is not going to be an N number but the ship number in the American fleet. No way I know of to correlate the two in published databases.

According to Air Britain's Publication AFQR 2007
4YG = N973TW

JP Airlines Fleet also gives 4YG as N973TW.

G-KKUH 737-3Q8 Air 2000

Had the pleasure back in April 1989, Of flying on G- KKUH, Air 2000 737 -3Q8 LBA - PMI.

This Aircraft was on lease while the 757's were being delivered over the summer.

The Aircraft was immaculate in the Air 2000 colours, And went on to fly for BD/BMIBaby as G-OBMP.

I think it is still with BMIBaby?

Did any of you fly G-KKUH??

Regards.

G-KKUH deregistered on transfer to Sweden 1990
G-OBMP registered new to British Midland 1992. Not the same aircraft.

All info easily obtained from G-INFO on CAA website

CAA (UK) and FAA (US) both maintain registry databases. I don't know about other countries...

Have a look at 'air net' run by Howard Curtis - if you can't find a link on there, it probably doesn't exist!

The civil registers of many countries are "on-line", just do a Google search. The UK register is at:
http://www.caa.co.uk/application.asp...pplicationid=1

As a last resort, simply do a Google search for the registration and you'll likely get masses of answers, not least from all the aviation photo databases such as: http://www.planepictures.net/
