BA Connect Dash-8

GBRYY has just left NWI for MAN after a long overdue repaint to BA Connect and will join GBRYW. GBRYV went into the hangar today. The old tails will soon vanish!

G-BRYU is due in after 'YV but may just be a little late. Then all the wonky tails will be gone.

The last two aircraft GNVSA and GNVSB must be the last ones to good into the paint shop??

If so this must mean they will have six Dash 300 aircraft for a few years yet???

Should be 7 aircraft actually.

No repaints planned after 'YU at the end of this month.

Depends on the continuing improvement in profitability whether the rest of the fleet get a facelift!

Indeed they are, hence the reluctance to waste much needed cash to repaint them. We'll just have to have a mixed BA Connect/British Airways fleet!

Angel GNVSA and GVNSB

Correct both aircraft are in British Airways full house colours.

The branding should be under BA Connect should it not?

Hence when i mensioned i should have made it clear.

It only need five minutes or so for the sign writer to amend from British Airways to read BA Connect or possible a little bit longer?

From that reply i take it that you don't work for BA Connect?
Five minutes of anything to do with aeroplanes costs money, especially when it concerns BA's poor offshoot.
No point spending money when Willy's chopper falls at the end of the month.

I swear I saw a BA Dash-8 in old BA Livery today at EDI when going past on the train.

It had the old tartan tail colours and was parked well away from the terminal.

Rebranding

So the Dash fleet might have dwindled but they must be living on for a few more years yet, in view of spending all this cash to put them in a BA Connect branding markings.

Interesting theory. It will be fun to see if you are right this time next year!!

Unfortunately, this requires a great leap of faith to believe in, something not many have!
