Hi Guys and Gals

Just had a very pleasant trip to San Francisco with North West Airlines, really good. One thing I was wondering about was, we flew the first leg (Gatwick to Minneapolis) in a DC10, as these aircraft are quite dated now, do they have all the navaids and gizmos that the Airbus and Boeing have? or do they still use INS?

Cheers!

Might have been modified but probably not therefore your assumption is correct - INS.
The difference in navigation capability between a fully serviceable "triple mix" INS installation and a more modern IRS / FMC / GPS system is probably negligable on an Atlantic crossing. (My opinion prepared to be shot down)
