Its is fantastic to see the last Heron G-AORG flying at least in Europe if not in the world.
With the sun shining, clear blue skies, the sea comming in, Heron G-AORG going around the circuit, with the aircraft having to give way to commercial traffic and having to hold down wind should other traffic give way to an old lady of local skies??.
The aircraft sounds great and it is good to see back in the air.
I understand the aircraft is under new ownership and it has had a few barriers to overcome but to see and hear the aircraft on a day like to day, if only we could turn the clocks back and bring back the good old propliners..

Amen to that. Seriously would like to get a ride in 'RG and also a Dove. And there is nothing better than listening to elderly recips taking off at full chat! Right underneath the DC-6 geting airborne at Biggin this year - bliss... Think me hearing has recovered...

treadigraph... U should have been at the Air Britain Fly-In at North Weald where G-OPLC was giving joy rides all day. I recall vividly sitting in my classroom at school watching the Morton Air Services Doves and Herons landing at Croydon...... magic days.

Ah, I am but half a mile from that hallowed turf at Croydon - shame it's just R/C models that fly from there today - unless the Tiger Club have something more up their sleeve! At least a Heron is there still... Yep, it's my aim to get up in 'PLC at a show one day! I see and hear her flying around here occasionally, those Gipsy Queens are very distinctive!
