4 in formation over Southampton

Just heard and then seen 4 low wing monoplanes (with a high T tail???) in fairly tight formation flying about South/South Eastish over Southampton (16:30 BST).

Any one got any clue how/what they were and what they were doing?

probably the 4 ship formation of Yaks (Yak52's?) that routed Old Sarum (or was it Compton Abbas?) to Shoreham ready for the airshow there this weekend

Compton Abbas - was there this afternoon. 24 knots across and quite sporting !!
