ICOM ICR5 Scanner Programming problems

Does anyone else have one great little scanners? If so, how on earth did you program the frequencies into it? I've read the instructions over and over again, but I cannot get a set of frequencies put into the machine. Can anyone assist?

Thanks Pprune Dispatcher - I've got the manual and its a MENSA exercise to understand. I suppose I'm after a 'laymans' view of how its done. Do appreciate your help though...

How about this?

http://www.ukmidlandscanner.co.uk/r5rev.htm

About half-way down, read the paragraph that starts
"I have to be really honest here and admit that I found it very hard going to program this scanner at first. "

(I wish I hadn't started researching this... I'm soooo tempted to upgrade my ancient AR 1500 to an icom icr-20...)
