Question RAF Helicopters flying in to Kneller Hall

Question for any mil types (or others) who may know - who would the helicopter pilots be working on the radio when flying into Kneller Hall (military school of music), near Twickenham Rugby Stadium? Mil or civil ATC - or both?

They come literally right down my street on the approach.

Seriously impressive sight, sound and smell of a chinook at a few hundred feet.

Just curious - I assume that it is a regular training exercise, as I see them quite often, but they don't pick up or drop off any pax! Had one this afternoon, hence the Q.

Awww HD - sounds nice and inviting when you call it a suite!!

Kneller Hall is a tricky one esp when landing 27L. Normally go to the Twickenham VRP and then north in a gap.

Not that regular an occurrence though.

Thanks for the replies -

Yes, it's once every couple of months or thereabouts - and at almost any time of the day or night (had one over at 00:45 one time)!

Very impressive in the dark - not so easy to see the Twickenham VRP at night?

BTW - is the Rugby Stadium the Twickenham VRP (not one I'm familiar with as a PPL)
