Issues at MAN tonight?
Although the fog is starting to set in, and very low vis is expected overnight, there seems to have been some unusual activity at MAN in the last hour.
Around 18.00, 4/5 aircraft landed on 24L, with no a/c using 24R and no departures from either runway (from the sound of it).
Then it all went quiet for 20 minutes, before a couple more landings on 24R.
Then it seemed like there was an early-ish go around on 24L at around 1900.
Now it seems normal again.
Are they doing some hasty runway maintenance, or what is the issue?

Orginally there was debris on RWY 24R. Then a/c started holding due to Low Vis Procedures that were in place. "Shuttle 2K" has diverted to Liverpool.
Lots of a/c have been in the hold, quite a lot of them over my house.

Interesting.
Any idea of what the debris was? From an aircraft, or general FOD?
And why would it have taken so long to clear?
I am assuming that 24L has the same ILS that 24R has????
I see they are quoting an RVR of 350m or less for a lot of the night at MAN, as well as elsewhere, although it's pretty good at the mo.

So I've heard!
And now the exceptional flight conditions have been cancelled for MAN.
Looks like the fog will stay away now, only a VLM and a shuttle diverted to LPL from what I can see.

I was the "Air ATSA"/SAMOSS [Met Observer] tonight
We had an a/c hit a fox. Cue single r/w ops 24L...mist/fog rolling in from the south west. Clear debris from 24R PDQ[ish], close 24L [Low Vis Procs]..single r/w 24R. [vis varying between 200m-10k, IRVR 24L down to -300m, 24R ok (ish)]. Have in/outbound delays..wx clears [in like 20 mins] but wind goes round...ergo switch to 06L/R.
Shuttle, VLM, Air Arran to the 'Pool, Jet2 to EMA. All came home except the Arran.
An "interesting" couple of hours
