Thumbs up

Very impressive!!

(probably a very stupid question as I have not clue about model aircraft, but is that thing actually powered by tiny little jet engines?)

They used to have ducted fans, but I've seen real jets used on r/c a/c, so probably yes.

Some rich bugg3r built a B-52 with 8 of something similar round here a couple of years ago. One of our office gadget fashionistas was most unchuffed!

Edited - advertising.

I recall seeing a video of the demise of a multi-jet rc model, together with a comment on the COST of the crash.

Ouch!

Due to the heavy use of these forums we would prefer it if you are going to post something then please make sure it is worthwhile and at least 15 characters long. One liner replies such as 'Yes', 'No' or 'I agree' for example, are not necessary and only use up valuable bandwidth. Please use your back button to change your reply or use the link below to go to the forums.

I'm guessing that with 8 engines, £9000 plus went into the B52.

Anyone have an exact figure?

One of these days the big stuff will be banned. I'll take a guess......shortly after the B52 size of crash is repeated onto a crowd line.

Model gas turbines can be around 3,000 USD so that B52 may have been more than $30,000.

Here is another sexy jet...

or if that's not what you like try this err boat? (or is it - watch the vid to find out)

Video:

Too big? Try this helicopter (The animal is a hampster)...

and fly it in your living room (video)...

Impressive!!!

That's tasty!!!

Several thoughts, all of them irreverent , but they happened.

Watch the video on the page, it's worth it.

Having watched it

I wonder how the handling compares to the real thing

Does the owner/operator have any LoCo connections, his taxy speed is "interesting"

I noticed that. Perhaps due to combination of throttle lag and no brakes. I believe model jets can't be throttled down very quickly or the fire goes out.

The simple answer is don't fly it that far away!

What would you want to do, cross the channel with it?

lol hardly.

but i mean, even just from the video clip, it becomes pretty much a blur in the sky and it isnt really that far away from the field (or doesnt appear to be anyway)

it would be hard to tell the bank angle etc surely.
