The A380 will be 'photo-chased' from the Bristol area to approach to LHR by SN601 Corvette F-GPLA (PHOTO A/C).

BAA has only invested in Code F infrastructure mods for 380 from 09R/27L to related aprons/stands. In event of rwy closure in future, EGLL designated alternate.

Not too sure what taildragger means by "particular approach" - it'll be radar-vectored to the ILS like everything else; that's the standard procedure at Heathrow.

Just meant eg. hold at Lambourne instead of Biggin (if hold at all), likely to be vectored over (or not over) particular areas... basically I'll be in the City and I'd like to have an idea of where I should be looking (other than "up", you lot of smarties)

If the a/c routes from the DESIG direction towards EGNR, as we usually shove 'em, then there's a good chance you'll spot it to the north of 'CC anyway, at a reasonably low level.

ITV West News said that the A 380 will fly over the Bristol Downs and Clifton Suspension Bridge either before or after the Filton flypast - they were a bit vague.
G-BOAF did this and then flew out to the southern Cotswolds before turning and landing at Filton from the east for the last time.
Would be sort of apposite if the last Concorde flight and the first A 380 flight to the UK followed a broadly similar route over the city region that put (and in the case of the 380 is still putting) so much life into them.
