UK Airport Runway Lengths
Hi all,
I'm doing a project and need to know the max size of aircraft (approximately) that can use each of the following UK airports:
ABZ
BHD
BFS
BHX
BLK
BOH
BRS
CWL
CVT
DSA
MME
EDI
EXT
GLA
PIK
HUY
INV
IOM
LBA
LPL
LCY
LGW
LHR
LTN
STN
MAN
NCL
NQY
NWI
EMA
SOU
I'm looking at each airport for the following 6 imagery aircraft ops:
1. Embraer 145
2. A319
3. B737-800
4. A320
5. B757-200
6. B767-300
I know lots of factors would influence the outcome but in normal ops etc, what airport can handle what?
Any help REALLY appreciated!

SOU - all except #6
BOH - all
Those are my local airports, but I would also happily say that:
BHX, BRS, CWL, CVT, EDI, GLA, LBA, LGW, LHR, LTN, STN, MAN
can take ALL of those a/c. I couldn't be 100% certain about the others as I'm not certain of runway length.

Thanks for all the replies guys.
tilewood - the list is based on the top 30 UK airports by pax numbers according to CAA stats + DSA as that isn't in the stats yet for a full year.

Britannia has operated the757 into all except BHD INV IOM LCY and the 763 into all except BHD INV IOM LCY CVT SOU. The 763 is restricted at airports which do not have either turning circles or taxiways to the runway ends as it cannot be turned in a normal width runway.

The types you list can and do use BRS.
There are 145s, 320s and 757s based there, with the 319 about to be (it has flown in and out daily from SXF for a year or more). 320s and 757s are also regular visitors with other airlines.
The 738 is also a regular visitor with various airlines.
The 763 is slightly more of a problem as, because of its size, it has to use a remote stand on the western apron, ie the apron furthest from the terminal.
A Britannia (Thomsonfly) 763 has flown to PMI throughout the summer. It wouldn't be able to go non-stop transatlantic though from BRS because of runway limitations, although CO's 172-seat 757-200s have had no trouble (so I am told by those who know) since they started flying to EWR in May, even the ones without winglets.

LCY - none of the types listed - The Embraer 135 is certified but not the 145. The A318 is being looked at but not the A319.
IOM - all but the 767-300. Although all the others are payload restricted including the 145. Even the ATP and J41 were on restricted takeoff weights during the summer months.
BHD - see IOM
NQY - all types with ease..... pax terminal a little small though.

LBA probably all 6, bit of a squeeze with B763 though
....763 no problem at LBA had one based for a few days prior to the 762 at the start of the summer season. Also the 763 does the Bridgetown (barbados) cruise flights about 6 times during the winter !
Ive seen a 747 at LBA for a football charter. i honestly think you would be surprised at what some of the other aiports can take.

EGNH can and has taken all but one of those types.
767...... a few years ago a scandinavian machine was supposed to arrive on a charter ..it didn't. Although I suspect the airport could take a 767 at restricted weights , it's not just runway length it's also taxiway strength !! EGNH also lost a C-141 Starlifter to Warton because of taxiway concerns eons ago.
Oh and last year an A310 (private/exec) was due in but diverted to EGCC because of weather on the day.
Hope this helps

Thanks again for replies people - better response than I expected. I just need help on these last few though:
BLK
EDI
IOM - in my scenarios each aircraft is heavily loaded (appox 80-90%) so which of these aircraft could operate at IOM with those loads?
LPL
LTN - all the scenarios?
NWI
Thanks
