You might want to consider changing the thread title lest you irritate a lot of people who might think BA has actually ordered the thing.

Although it's true BA hasn't ordered it yet, Rod E. is reported in Air Transport World daily news as expressing interest in it. Boeing is studying new versions of the -900 variant, which are also of interest to EK and Qantas.

BA will have to order something new for longhaul in the next couple of years. One rumour suggests the 747 Advanced, although I think a combination of 777-300s and 787s would be more likely.

From an Airbus point of view, it would presumably be some combination of A340s, A350s and A380s. Personally I think that's unlikely, although I would expect to see a few A380s at some point.

Misleading thread title

Flyer 55, why not stick a question mark at the end of the thread title? This will make it sound more like the question you asked and less like the statement/announcement it implies.

Well a strong rumour seems to exist that the airline are about to order between 15 and 20 A380's in the coming months! But just rumour!

Will A380s be so much quieter than B747s so as to end noise complaints?

Does anyone out there really care?

Whatever equipment BA finally orders will still be Gate Gourmet limited!

Habitually the world's favourite is Boeing biased. Having all the wings manufacturing in UK, BA is never an big fan of the Europen Inc. (A320 by-product of BCal??).

Those (now & then) occupying 10 Dowing St would rather say English to Oval Office then to the EC neighbour.

Just to throw a spanner in the works, a painting of a 787 in BA colours has been commisioned by an Aussie bloke in Waterworld.

Watch this space, or the canvas!
