I notice that XLA are operating a positioning flight from Brize Norton to MAN this afternoon. Does this mean that they have sought military help to improve their woefull performance of late?

XLA have been operating flights out of BZZ for well over a year a/c does BZZ-PRN-BNX-BZZ then positions back to MAN to continue its "woeful" (as you think) charter work!!!!!

It's only woeful because of the company they keep....the Icelandic 737's just aren't reliable and don't have the performance either.
