Will the swiss connie come to the uk.

According their 2005 program, I'm sorry to say the answer is no. All flying is in Switzerland with the exception of its visit to the Paris Air Show and a session in Stuttgart on September 3 & 4th. They recently had to change an engine, and with the increase in insurance costs too, I hope they will still have the funds to keep it flying.

What joy it would be see - and hear - one again. The MATS one which we saw at Hurn a few years back was amazing. I recall the magic days in the 50s at Heathrow with loads of them - every variant from 049 to 1649. Fantastic aeroplanes......

Fond memories of Connies (and other great piston airliners) in the 50s too Heathrow Director. I flew in all of them except for the Connie (and the Strat). I'm hoping to add the Connie to my list later this year
