Cool What was fast jet over City of London at midday? anyone?

Hi, was on a call to colleagues in Germany at midday when my words were almost drowned out by a fast jet overhead - I am not near a window so wondered what it might have been? Any ideas please?

Thanks.

There is a post in the Military Forum thanking the Reds Arrows for a flypast today, so that may be what the noise was.

Wink

Thanks Kolibear - darn! wish I had given in to temptation to drop my phone and run to the window hehehehe although, alas, as I am on a lower floor I probably wouldn't have seen much (and the boss in Germany might not have appreciated the dropped phone!) hehehe

Wouldnt worry about it. Theyre used to the sound of fighters/bombers flying over head.

It looked like about 9 red jets and a load of red white and blue smoke, if that's any help.

Charles and Camilla opened the 60th VE/VJ commemoration week in London today - expect the Reds were on hand for that, although it's not mentioned here

Cool

airborne-artist yeah, I had already checked the Reds' skedyool which is why I was wondering who was wreaking havoc ... thought it had sounded a tad Arrow-like but figured I was mistook!

I heard it as well - but was no where near the window at the time .... I can remember people looking around, and then going back to there work.

You saw what was plan A and B

We were to see the reds as along as we finished 1st or 2nd.

(Not sure why we should contemplate celebrating being 2nd)

Plan C was for the hawks to arm at Manston and continue tracking South at high speed.....

I knew they were coming, and saw the pictures as they did their first smoke dump over Stratford .... and then told my colleagues that they should shortly be over St Pauls ... seemed I impressed them.
