Actually, when adola first posted it was on the airports, route etc section, that possibly confused some people.

I note that most of the flights are 4/5 and 6 hours late arriving back in Liverpool.
This may be due to the supporters not being able to reach the Istanbul airports in time due to traffic congestion.
Maybe someone can provide more info.

Me wonders if it was anything to do with traffic congestion. I reckon they'll still be finding scousers in Istanbul in the weeks to come. Well done the 'Pool!

Well i am still here and i can comfirm that the place ıs stıll swarmıng wıth red shırts. Carpet sellers are doiıng a roaring trade.
There has been severe traffic congestıon on the roads prior to and after the game. The LFC flıghts were from the aırport on the asıa sıde whıch ıs a bıg trek to the termınal.

I never managed to get a tıcket for the game ınstead watchıng the bıg screen ın Taksım square. I can honestly say (even though I am a Manc red) that the receptıon and behaviour of all concerned has been superb. well done LFC.

It said on the radio this morning that because of the delays, supporters were being asigned to flights on the next available a/c seat by seat, rather than the flight designated on their tickets. The operation was rather like a bus service the Beeb said.

Surely not ? but then again I suppose 'fill up and go' was the only way to get flights and people on the move.

The LFC team flew out on Titan 757 G-ZAPU and returned on 737 G-ZAPW.
