A fleet of flying saucers?

Well, the Hitch-Hiker's Guide movie is out next week...

Assuming that it wasn't the Vogons, what was that noisy thing that flew across London heading (I think) roughly south-east at 00:40Z just now? It sounded like a very large mil jet in a hurry - I looked out of my North London window to see high altitude lights heading towards Kent, but the engine note was nothing at all familiar.

In five years of nocturnal life hereabouts, I've become used to the late night prop plane (postal, I think), the police helicopters and the very occasional commercial straggler trying to creep across the sleeping city. I've never heard anything like this.
