Anybody know why Continental 20 was late into MAN this morning? Set off from EWR at 21:15, landed at 11:45 taking 9 hours instead of the usual 7.

Aircraft may have operated non etops then again it still should not take 9 hours. Flight may have had to stop en-route or may just have been finger trouble with the times.

Possibly strong head winds? were other American flights arriving late?

Or maybe engine performance was not too great but decided to carry on rather than turn back and waste more time? like the BA 747 incident?

could be various reasons

Have you ever been to KEWR in the evening?

It probably took two hours from pushback to the threshold!
