Best seats on East Coast Canadian Affair flights

Hi,

I'm booked MAN - YUL in May, travelling on one of the re-configured Thomas Cook 75's, with a tasty 35" legroom in economy.

Seat selection is available for £7 or £9 each way - is this worth it, considering the decent seat pitch? I'm travelling alone, and wouldn't mind a window... does the seat allocation at check-in for these flights allow any aisle/window requests? And if so, any recommendations (front/middle/back)? The seat plan doesn't suggest much variation in the cabin.

Thanks,

*j*
