ok folks .. your chance to settle an argument.
I say that it must have landed there and not been able to take off again because it was damaged, then it was given to the museum.

Adversary says it was flown in and decommisssioned as a gift to the museum.

over to you... the people that know the real answer

If I recall they closed the M11 the time it flew in on delivery - on purpose - not accidental
