Yes, I have many times. The Maho Beach Hotel is where I usually stay and it is a very nice place. You must, and I mean must go to the Sunset Beach Bar, web-site www.sunsetbeachbar.com. Be very careful with your small child walking across the beach from the hotel to the Sun Set Beach bar, watch the end of the runway for departures of heavy or medium jet aircraft. A small child can be hurt by the takeoff thrust, you will be that close to the runway.
One more sad note of caution, be very careful on the French side of the island after dark because crime is rising. But other than that you will have a great time and meet a lot of very nice people. There is also the danger of over eating and over drinking!
Enjoy!
