Book with Balkan Holidays and perhaps you'll get to fly on their lovely Tu154.

Pulkovo Airlines are beginnning a service from LHR to St Petersburg on June 1 with Tu 154s. I know they've operated this on behalf of Aeroflot for a while, but now they are starting in their own right.

Will this make them the last trijet operator to start operations at Heathrow ?

BTW, Varig still do MD11s out of Heathrow to Sao Paolo too, and you can also take them on the short hop continuation flight from Heathrow to Copenhagen and back, which would make a day trip for you if really interested in doing it just for the sake of it.

Biman out of LHR use DC-10-30's
Some of their flights stop off at CDG, FCO, FRA.

Eva Air use MD-11s into LHR like Varig.

Or....join the Air Training Corps, maybe lucky enough to get a trip on RAF Tristars!

There's also the Ghana Airways DC10 which operates in/out of Heathrow several evenings a week, although I wouldn't really recommend Accra for a summer holiday !

Well having spent a few years operating both, I would say that from a 'workers' point of view the Tristar is the nicer aircraft, but there is no doubt in my mind that the DC10 is the better aircraft.

Biman operate DC10 FROM Dhaka to LHR via Dubai, or Jeddah. Flight FROM LHR are all direct to Dhaka.

They'll be around for a few years yet as they are only 'talking about' their replacement and the aircraft are basic and reasonably reliable. Fuel costs are mitigated somewhat by the fact that this is the Bangladesh flag carrier and the Government pays ultimately.

Hope that helps. If you want a short flight, Rome to Frankfurt is done by DC10 which is probably the most convenient for European based customers that MUST fly on a Trijet.
