757 handling performance

Hi

Could somebody give me a generalised rundown on how the 757 handles,eg response in roll pitch thrust, accel decel. I am only a ppl and have jumpseated the 757-2 and wished i had asked this question to the crew but i was so excited about being up front i forgot!(big kid).
A friend told me that the 757 is a very slippery ac which takes a lot to keep under control especially during descent,is this true?are there any anomalies unique to the ac,I read on a different post about the autoland flaring at 50feet retarding the power which could cause a heavy landing, does this happen regularly? Any thoughts from pilots who have flown this type would be appreciated!!

cheers keith
