Mr. Vaj*****, Use The Phone!!
Heard a well-known sub-continental flag carrier last night passing on their Prime Ministers best wishes, greetings, salutations, best regards, etc. etc. (ad infinitum) to dignitaries on the ground, using the active ATC frequency as a convenient conduit. A couple of questions:
1. Don't you guys carry satphone equipment?
2. If not, wouldn't it be an idea to ask ATC for a discrete frequency before blocking a very busy VHF frequency for 5 minutes?
I haven't heard anything like it for quite a few years.
