Spanair

Saludos

Como està el contracto de First Officer? He oido que pagan poco y mas o menos lo mismo por 3 years.

Mohit_C 24th March 2007 08:40

papazulu 24th March 2007 15:50

Hola

Disculpe for using EN but my efforts to write castellano are much more embarassing than just speak it (average now, but improving...) so I give it a try!

I got a mail from them saying that there wasn't room for everybody last year convocatoria, so they might try to call for the next one in 2007 but...when? Rumors said June, then may and now...April! A friend in MAD got hold of a CCM ready to jump in the front row and told me that it could have happend in March too...Confusing at least!

I need to update my CV (new contacts) but I wonder if returning it by email to that address might work or not...

Ayuda por favor

PZ :ok:

SPANISHPILOT 24th March 2007 21:03

Hey Papazulu, the next recruiting process will be on April. There are rumours that it will be only for those who were not included in the first try or those who couldn't attend last recruiting.
So be patient PZ you will be called for these exams.

Good luck

hola spanishpilot,

parece que no has visto un post interesante

aqui esta :

gracias :D

SPANISHPILOT 24th March 2007 22:02

The more I write, the less I look last posts! :E

The salary as a F/O is about 3000 €, but everything included.
The salary has decreased considerably but you don't pay anything (type rating, hotel, transportation, food...)and you earn money since the first day of the course.
I recommend everybody to apply for it and try it on next recruiting process!
Definitively, it is one of the best opportunities in Spain.

ICING AOA 24th March 2007 23:58

:ok: good !

felices vuelos y mucha suerte !

papazulu 25th March 2007 12:56

Hola tios...

Muchissima gracias SPANISHPILOT, you just confirmed what I got from LECU's briefing room gossip. It will happen sometime during spring, eventually. Good to know.

As I understood there is not need to keep CV up to date since they will get in touch with those whose applications were turned down in November and get the infos then. Am I right?

Fingers & toes crossed then!

Animo tios y suerte

pues...supongo que si. Hay solamente unos 3500 pilotos espanioles sin trabajo :}

papazulu 25th March 2007 16:12

pues...supongo que si. Hay solamente unos 3500 pilotos espanioles sin trabajo
As you said...pues. Most of them are MUY low-houred also on SEPs and with a ridiculous level of English. Ok, nothing counts more than hrs but...are you so sure? How can you pretend to get into this business with low TT and looking just in your backyard? If you skim those 3500 from the low TT, or those who got licences and...nothing after for 2 to 5 yrs how many have you got left? Sorry to sound rude but truth sould be told and an hard look inside taken too, don't you think? In my own country there are 1000's of CPL in the same situation (unemployed and under-qualified experience-wise) and 100's of crews brought in from brookers to fly heavies for local Legacy and LoCos so...otro pero, misma mierda :E .

I might not suit Spanair for many reasons: native language (not EN level, hopefully), experience or...I don't know what. Still, I would love for THIS company because despite the fact they try to get us to tighten the belt T&Cs are far better than somewhere else.

Get you conclusions, hidalgos!

Muchissima suerte

Vamos a ver...

How can you pretend to get into this business with low TT and looking just in your backyard? If you skim those 3500 from the low TT
well, I have lots of examples, including myself ! When I got my first job on a JAR25 A/C I had a total of 200 hours :O :ok:
I know I was very lucky, but nevertheless I am far from being an exception !

Be careful not to under estimate too much your spanish mates. I met lots of spaniards with an EXCELLENT level of english ! And bear in mind that there are lots of spanish guys with thousands of flight instruction.

I don't know what Spanair really wants, I do suppose that they want a mixture of different backgrounds (low houred, type rated guys, ex Instructors, ex Regional or BizJet pilots, etc..)

If they pay 3000 euros with a free type rating, which is not good for a european company but quite good for a Spanish company, I think it might interest lots of guys from Air Nostrum, Vueling, Air Madrid, etc, ..

Anyway, I wish you all the best ;)
